Itsy Bitsy Preschool: Under The Sea

Last week we did a mini-unit, At The Beach, which led us into this week's theme, Under The Sea. Our main book this week was, Commotion In The Ocean.

Commotion in the Ocean

Our Weekly Theme ...

For Directional Art we made a Crab Handprint Puppet and a Paperplate Jelly Fish.

We stamped seashells.

The children decorated fish shaped cutouts.

We read our National Geographic Little Kids Magazine. This edition was about Sea Turtles.

Missy-Mu-Mu (4.5 yrs) reviewed Uppercase-Lowercase matching.

The children had access to Under The Sea Rubbing Plates from Lakeshore Learning. Our home made crayons were perfect for this activity!
Here's the result ... sorry for the bad photography!
They loved the cute Under The Sea Simple Puzzles! Not only did this strengthen problem solving skills, it also helped with our key words this week.

Buddy Boy (3.5yrs) practiced counting,  number recognition and matching with this cute set!
They practiced problem solving with an Ariel puzzle.

I will be posting an Under The School Home(Pre)School Pack on Itsy Bitsy Printables by the end of the week. It will contain all the above activities, lesson plans and extras! In the meantime you can find the activities shown above here. There are other Under The Sea printables available there too!

Also this week we ...

... made playdoh faces ...      ... color sorted buttons ...
